Hello all,
I have been visiting this site since quite long but never commented on anything. Today, I would like to share my views with all the visitors about Raagmala and Roshan Ara Begum. Raagmala is the magnum opus of Khwaja Khurshid Anwar. It has striking performances by some of the most renowned classical singers of the subcontinent. I personally like all the performances of Bhairavi, Jaunpuri, Rageshri, Aiman, Jhinjhoti, Kalavati, and Bibhas. In fact, nearly all are good, but I was more striken by Roshan Ara Begum and Qudratullah Khan Sahib. I am an ardent admirer of Roshan Ara Begum. She sang beautlfully. Her vilambit and drut are both striking. When I heard Bairagi Bhairon by Roshan Ara, the moment she started singing the alaap, my eyes filled with tears. She was a gifted person. I hope to see more of her recordings on this site.

I know Jawad since last 3 years we are friends he is a very nice person but a bit shy never commented any where when I saw his comment here I was astonished gave him a call he laughed and said just could not help my self.well may be he will be offended by what I am writing here but Jawad sings himself and tries to follow Roshan ara begum’s style of singing some times I simply admire his honesty in singing.He improvises too.I said to him why dont you perform publicly he said”what I sing has already been sung so I just pay a tribute dont have any desire of fame or any thing”.He is a nice person I agree with his comment and wish him all the best.may ALLAH bless all.
Excuse me folks but which Bairagi Bhairav are you talking about ? On Roshanara Begam’s page there is none. Incidently how is this related to Pt. Ramnarayan ?
